Secure the Call Foundation
It's estimated that in the United States there are over 45 million old cell phones sitting in drawers and closets. These old cell phones could help tens of thousands of our citizens feel safe and secure by converting them into 911 emergency-use cell phones and given away for free to those in need.
Any phone that can be turned on can be used to call 911. It's always a free call and will connect you to the nearest local emergency operator. If you have a cell phone, you're always close to getting help. But if you don't have a phone, you could be in trouble.
That's where Secure the Call comes in. They are a non-profit coalition of Police Departments, Sheriff's Offices, Battered Women's Shelters, Neighborhood Watch Groups, Community Service Organizations and Senior Citizen Centers. They take your donated phone and convert it into a 911 emergency only phone and give it back to our coalition partners for distribution. If you have a need for a 911 phone, we'll work to get you one.
They need your old phones to make this program a success. They have collection boxes throughout Florida to donate your old cell phones or you can send the phone to us in the mail via USPS, FedEx, UPS or any other carrier. Thanks to you, the program works.
