Housing Authorities issue Section 8 housing certificates. There are 5 housing authorities in Palm Beach County.

2. Palm Beach County, 561-684-2160, probably 500 or 1000 on waiting list, (did not answer phone).
3. Delray Beach, 561-272-6766 (did not answer phone).
4. Pahokee, 561-924-5565, only has allotment of 25-30, (did not answer phone).
5. Boca Raton, 561-393-7913, authorized for 571 certificates, 545-555 of our certificates are active today helping families, the 16 certificates not being used cannot be used because there is no money available from HUD. another 100 have come into the area with certificates from other areas. 3 years ago had waiting list of 400-500, now has waiting list of 75 since there is no point in maintaining a waiting list that cannot possibly be served.
