July 22, 2008, Belovedcommunity.org, On Organizing Humans, by Mark Wasserman.
There is a Soviet joke that goes:
"What is the difference between communism and capitalism? Capitalism is the exploitation of man by man; communism is the exact opposite."
All organisational structures (capitalism, communism, socialism, democracy, theocracy, kibbutz, communes, small businesses, big businesses, religious organizations, nonprofits, NGOs, HOAs, state, local, federal and international governments, etc) all have good and bad aspects because they are all creations of fallible, selfish, generous human beings.
I personally believe that capitalism with appropriate regulation is the best form of economic organization. The fact that more and more command economies (Soviet Union, China) are moving in that direction supports my view.
