The National Alliance to End Homelessness added up all the homeless censuses in all the jurisdications in America and gave us a count of 744,000 homeless persons in America in January, 2005. Next, the report says 77% of homeless people get back on their feet while 23% are "chronically homeless". 41% of homeless people are in families and 38% of homeless people are children according to this report.
