Supervised Visitation Services in Broward County

holdinghands

The Broward County Court has recently told one of us, Dr. Mark Roseman, that they have had to close their supervised visitation services (which allow non-custodial parents to visit their children) because of funding difficulties. There is now an urgent need to provide continuing services to those parents and children in need of supervised visitation. Therefore, we invite your assistance in locating several locations in Broward County to be used on alternate weekends with either Saturday and/or Sunday availability.

Dr. Mark Roseman, Director of the Toby Center (affiliate of the national Children's Rights Council, www.crckids.org) has asked if we can help to locate several classroom facilities that can be used to accommodate children and their non-custodial parents for scheduled visitation.

The ideal facilities would be classrooms with games, toys and other interesting items to provide comfort to these families when they are together. Easy access to parking and ADA equipped facility is also an important consideration.

Volunteers are also being sought who would like to learn to work with parents and children in supervised visitation settings. Of special note is CRC's goal to restore the bonds of love between parents and children during the terrifying period of parental separation and divorce. CRC's approach is compassion and vigilance.

Roseman is former Assistant Director for Child Access with the Children's Rights Council in Washington, DC. He has trained staff and operated supervised visitation programs in DC, MD and CT. There are more than 40 CRC supervised visitation programs in 14 states and DC. Says Roseman, " the effects of divorce and its frequency are all heightened in a changing economy marked by love loss and job loss. Please help us establish supervised visitation services in Broward County."

"Dear Abby" referenced the Children's Rights Council in her November 3, 2008 column as an organization which helps intervene when parents are found to be alienating their children against the other parent. Since 1996, the CRC has provided supervised visitation to thousands of children with support from the court systems and faith communities.

The need for supervised visitation is especially urgent when used as an intervention where one parent is alienating their child against the other parent. Roseman is a specialist in Parental Alienation (PA). He has a program to introduce PA including a brand new movie, Jake's Closet.

For more information, please contact Dr. Mark Roseman at 860-857-5127 (c) or 561-375-8861 (h) or Carl House at 561-368-7445.

Thank you so much! It does indeed 'take a village!'
