This summarizes a database of congregations in Palm Beach County (and some outside PBC). It includes data needed for postal mailings, telephone/fax, and for e-mail. It has been used for several postal mailings and e-mailings to either Boca/Delray or to the entire Palm Beach County. As of November 11, 2008 , our Network of Congregations lists 1021 congregations, 496 clergy, 660 phone numbers, 82 websites, and 50 e-mail addresses for the institutions. We have 192 e-mail addresses for clergy. The list can be viewed by municipality and by denomination . The database has lots of telephone numbers, so the names of clergy and the e-mail list could be expanded by volunteers.

Our capability for sending e-mails is that we send one at a time (no e-mail addresses are evident to anyone but the recipient). Style can be lovely using html code with graphics. If e-mailing is done carefully, it will be welcomed by most recipients and we can be diligent to not send to people who don't want it.

We can easily send e-mails to the 200 we presently have. If the database is to be greatly expanded and made more accurate, it should be converted to a relational database that can easily be shared by volunteers who will then send their work back to the database manager so everyone's work can be in the same place. By this method, we should be able to expand our e-mail list from 200 to 400 or 600 clergy and lay leaders with ease. If this facility becomes part of our community fabric, we may wish to convert it to ConstantContact.com format which is used by "Place of Hope" in Palm Beach Gardens.
