Concept/vision language for interfaith dialogue featuring faith leaders who are women.
"As we consider the challenges faced by the world community in striving to achieve the UN Millenium development goals, the instrumental role of women in development has been an area of special insight and concern. For example, women have played a central role in rebuilding Rwandan society after the genocide of the 1990's.
To explore this particularly through the lense of interfaith conversation, St. Gregory's Episcopal Church and JAM are designing an event (identify women who are coming with titles) that will ask each of these distinguished women of faith to reflect on the role of women and faith in the work of promoting community and development both locally and internationally. The perspective the night will particularly explore is how their experience as women of faith has and continues to shape their perspective on this topic.
As planning for this event continues, we'll add and revise our assumptions and principles.
